Jade Increases Capacity to Keep Pace With Growing Customer Demand Jade Engineered Plastics is currently expanding its facilities and capabilities to stay ahead of steadily increasing demand. The additions include:
- Recently completed installation of an 80-ton compression auto molding machine.
- Installation of a new twin-spindle, multi-turret, six-axis super mill.
- Doubling of the facility's electrical service with 480-amp service.
The additional auto molding unit increases the company's capacity by some 17%, with additional capacity to follow shortly. The six-axis super mill permits "mill and turn" operation from two sides simultaneously.
"This unit does several things for our customers," says Steve Holland, Jade president. "It improves precision manufacturing by enabling us to hold tighter tolerances. It will also reduce or eliminate a number of secondary and tertiary machining operations and trim some setup time on many jobs," he adds.
The additions are part of a long-term strategic plan to continuously improve company performance and exceed customer expectations.
"This expansion of our facility and the addition of new equipment will help us reduce lead times and remain on track to achieve our quality, service and delivery goals and eliminate some set up time," says Holland.
