ISO 9001: 2008 Certification

ISO certification is a milestone for any company. For many, it's an ending, too, a goal accomplished. For Jade Engineered Plastics, the goal accomplished was a beginning for continuous improvement in the quality of its products and service to customers.

President Steve Holland said as much at the time. "Becoming certified was the result of an intense ten-month effort throughout our organization to build systems that would enable us to take a quantum leap in providing better service to our customers and raise what was already the high level of product quality we always maintained," Holland says.

"At the time, we made the long-term commitment to develop and maintain the specific systems and overall environment necessary for continuous improvement in our quality and services. Looking back over the last two years, it's clear that we continue to honor that commitment," he adds.

Jade's current quality objectives include:
  • Confirm orders for new products to the customer within 7 business days.
  • Reduce internal NC by 5%.
  • Reduce customer NC returns by 5%
  • Monitor customer satisfaction metrics against a baseline obtained from customer satisfaction surveys.
Today, Jade remains a family-owned business, but one with a difference. It has implemented a more formal, systemized approach that consistently delivers world-class quality and also has maintained traditional values such as personal pride in its work, close relationships with clients, and personal customer service.

"Our customers get the best of two worlds," Holland says, "world-class, high-quality engineered fluoropolymer products and the kind of personal attention that's largely been lost in today's business environment."
