Compression molding is at the heart of our business. The use of compression over other methods yields optimized physical properties for a given material, product uniformity and overall superior quality.
Using this process, we mold parts in a broad range of shapes and sizes, from the simplest to highly complex. We routinely mold valve seats in diameters from 1/8-in to 60-in.
In addition, we maintain an extensive inventory of basic and complex molded shapes to satisfy many customer requirements without additional tooling expense.
Our broad molding capabilities allow us to fine-tune the molding operation to match the particulars of your job. The majority of our parts are molded for later machining to their final dimensions. However, for suitable parts, we can use Automatic Molding Finished Parts (ACMFP) to optimize efficiency, eliminate machining and reduce scrap.
Sintering is the final step in the molding process. Each molded piece is baked in one of our precisely calibrated sintering ovens. This step fuses the resin particles together to bring all compression molded parts to their final level of mechanical integrity. We use an array of techniques to ensure each item holds its tolerances through the growth and shrink stages of the bake.
